HNJ6000000 - Land Rover Series Steering Drop Arm Puller for the Series 2, 2A & 3.
HNJ Engineering brings you a re-manufactured equivalent of Land Rover Special Tool 6000000.
This tool is used for removing the Steering Drop Arm from the Steering box.
The Land Rover Series Steering box consists of a tapered splined shaft which the Steering Drop Arm engages onto.
Over time the Steering Drop Arm & Steering Box splines can corrode together, making it difficult to remove the Steering Drop Arm.
Steering box oil seals are often damaged by the application of heat in this area in an attempt to remove the Steering Drop Arm. Using this tool will ensure your Steering Box splined shaft & oil seal will remain intact – as Land Rover intended.
Another benefit of this is tool is that the Steering Drop Arm can be removed from the Steering Box while it is still attached to the vehicle.
These tools are manufactured from 25mm thick BS EN 10025-2 S355 J2 + N Structural Steel Plate in small batches using Water Jet Cutting methods in the UK. S355 Steel gives the tool high tensile strength, shock resistance, good ductility and resistance to wear. Post machining the part has been powder coated red to make it stand out from cheaper alternatives.
.
The dimension across the puller jaws measures: 1.69" (42.93mm)
Each tool is supplied with 1x Grade 10.9 M12 High Tensile Steel Bolt which we have machined to help centre the puller on the steering drop arm.
